Why is my hot water cylinder leaking?
This issue could be with the cylinder, valving and/or pipework. If water is dripping from the overflow pipe, call us. A slow drip could waste a surprising amount of water if it not fixed promptly.
If water is dripping from the base of the cylinder or from pipe entries call us to assess whether the unit is repairable.
Why is my water pressure too low?
If you are on tank water, check your filters are clear.
If you are mains supply, make sure your isolation valve is fully open at the mains.

Why is my water temperature too high?
This may be an electrical fault with the thermostat. Alternatively, you may need a new tempering valve, call us now for assistance.
How to stop excessive water bills
It is possible you have a faulty water meter, but it is most likely that you have a leak.
It may be on the pipe from the meter to the house and/or within your house, we can locate and remedy the fault. For advice and a quote give Paragon Gas and Plumbing a call.
How do I fix a leak in my house?
If the leak seems relatively serious, shut off the water in your house. Either turn the valve in the Toby Box off or turn off your water pump.
A slow leak over a long period of time can cause significant damage to your home, as well as costing you a lot of unnecessary expenses. Don’t leave it on the back burner – get it sorted now!

Why is my sink blocked?
You could attempt to plunge the line, be careful not to do this too vigorously as it can damage the pipework.
We do not recommend the use of acid, as it does not eat through food scraps and can often affect pipework and create a hazard for technicians who are subsequently required.

Why is my toilet blocked?
You may want to attempt the plunge the line, however this can put unnecessary pressure on joints. It is best to give us a call.
Why can I smell gas?
Immediately isolate the gas supply at the source. Ventilate the area if it is safe to do so.
LPG: Turn the gas off at the bottle. You can also turn the gas off on the auto changeover regulator (where applicable). Once the gas has been turned off, check the bottle is securely connected to the system.

No hot water – electric cylinder
Ensure the cylinder is turned on and has not been accidentally knocked off.
Check the fuse board (the circuit breaker should be on)

Why isn’t my hob igniting?
Check the burners are all correctly placed.
You may need to replace the gas bottle.
Is the ignitor sparking at all? If not, check the electrical connection is plugged in and turned on.

Full gas bottle but no gas:
Check if the valve on the bottle is closed (rotate anti-clockwise to turn on).
If you have an auto changeover regulator, check the shut off valve is open.
